If you've ever taken a drive on Californias highway 1 you would be blown away by all its natural beauty. You will also find this picturesque lighthouse located right off the highway between Halfmoon Bay and Santa Cruz. 

As for a bit of history, this lighthouse was built in 1871 to guide ships on the Pacific coast of California. It is the tallest lighthouse (tied with Point Arena Lighthouse) on the west coast of the United States. The 115-foot (35m), white masonry tower, resembles the typical New England structure.
